About the project: ON GOLDEN POND is a warm and wonderful play about family, with a ton of humor, yes, it's very funny, a tale of differences left too long unsettled, and love. It's a beautiful vision into a lifetime of growing apart, then coming back together, as life dictates it will be in all families. Its characters are real people with real foibles and strong points, and my favorite part of the show is watching how each person learns to love and accept every part of all the others. (we all have to do this in our families) But the ultimate joy is the bond between the two main characters, an older husband and wife, and how they understand each other completely and accept each other as they are. ON GOLDEN POND touches my heart and goes a long way in reaffirming my faith in love and commitment. I dare you to leave the show without a fondness for Norman and his wife, Ethel, their daughter, Chelsea, and the people who make up the uneven, ruffled edges of their lives.
