"Seussical Jr." Seeks Boys and Girls

Kids ages 8-18 years old are welcome to audition for "Seussical Jr.". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! Additional info: Please prepare a 16-32 measure cut from a Musical that best shows off your voice. An accompanist will be provided. Please provide sheet music for the pianist, clearly marked, double-sided and in a binder with holes punched. For our youngsters, you may sing “Happy Birthday” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. Please bring a current resume and headshot if available. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to register and be prepared for a successful experience. There is no monologue or reading preparation required for this audition. A dance audition will be held on Sunday, September 7th at 2:30 pm. This is an invite-only audition. If you are not called to the audition, or you are asked to participate and cannot attend, that does not mean you are not considered for casting. Rehearsals for Seussicle Jr. will be Mondays, 6:30-8:30 pm, Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 p,m and Sundays, 2:30-5 pm. Rehearsals will begin with a mandatory first class rehearsal on Sunday, September 14th. Please be prepared to indicate conflicts to the rehearsal schedule on the day of your audition. Mandatory Attendance is required for Tech Week, Saturday, December 6th, to Thursday, December 11th. Show dates are Friday, December 12th at 7:30 pm, Saturday, December 13th at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and Sunday, December 14th at 2:00 pm. The completed Detailed Audition Form and Calendar Conflict Form attached must be printed and brought with you to your audition time. Note that a participation fee will be applied.
