Seeking Kids for "My Fair Lady" Show

Kids ages 8-12 years old are welcome to audition for "My Fair Lady" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: My Fair Lady is the beloved story of Cockney flower-seller Eliza Doolittle who is taken under the tutelage of linguist Henry Higgins. Along with his friend Colonel Pickering, Higgins sets out to turn her into a “proper lady” just in time to trick the guests at the Embassy Ball. With unforgettable songs such as “Get Me to the Church on Time,” “On the Street Where You Live,” and “I Could Have Danced All Night,” My Fair Lady is one of the most loved musicals of all time. Additional info: Students ages 8-12 should prepare (including memorizing) a 1-minute monologue or poem, and a 16 to 32-bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show*, OR may opt to sing “Do-Re-Me” from The Sound of Music. The sheet music and a link to a YouTube video to practice “Do-Re-Me” are on the show’s audition page of the Playhouse website. We will play the music live in your audition. The audition material and the audition form are attached. CALLBACKS: Wednesday, September 3, 6-8 pm. Those invited to callbacks will be asked to stay for the whole callback.
