"In Praise of Sparrows" Seeks Kids and Teens

Talent ages 10 and up are invited to audition for "In Praise of Sparrows" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: “In Praise of Sparrows” follows the experience of two women in two different time periods and the trauma they share and bond over. It explores themes of death, women’s rights, marriage, and family relationships. Additional info: Audition will consist of readings from the script in a collaborative environment. AUDITION FORMS & WAIVERS: Printed audition forms and waivers will need to be filled out upon arrival at auditions. You can review the participation waiver attached in advance. A waiver must be signed by each actor auditioning in person and every cast member. CASTING AND REHEARSALS: The cast list will be released on Tuesday, August 11th, 2025. Cast Orientation and Script Pickup will be on Sunday, August 17th, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Rehearsals begin Monday, August 18th. Rehearsals vary by role (1-4 nights per week). All cast members must attend every night during the final week. “In Praise of Sparrows” will debut Friday, Oct. 3, in Columbus East High School’s auditorium at 7:30 p.m., followed by a performance on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 5, at 2:30 p.m. PERFORMANCE DATES: Friday, October 3rd Saturday, October 4th Sunday, October 5th PARTICIPATION FEE: There is no cost to participate in this production.
