11 roles

RALPHIE PARKERMale9-10 y.o.All ethnicities

A 4th grade boy who dreams of getting an air rifle (BB gun) for Christmas. He is a bright, lovable, clever, cute kid, but he is not “precious” or precocious; he dreams big and sometimes gets into a little trouble, but he is not a trouble-maker. Ralphie's imagination drives several scenes, and the actor playing this role carries several songs; he must be an excellent singer with potent stage presence. Vocal range is F#3 to D5.

RANDY PARKERMale7-8 y.o.All ethnicities

Ralphie's younger brother. The baby of the family, he is cute, cuddly, lovable and a little whiny. He looks up to Ralphie and his friends and tries to keep up with them, but at the same time, he is young enough that his mother can be playful and convince him to eat his dinner like a baby pig! Must be an excellent singer, good dancer, and have strong stage presence. Vocal range is F#3 to D5.

FLICKMale9-10 y.o.All ethnicities

A classmate and best buddy of Ralphie. Flick is the guinea pig in the flagpole licking experiment. The actor playing this role should be able to sustain and communicate with a serious lisp!

SCHWARTZMale9-10 y.o.All ethnicities

A classmate and best buddy of Ralphie. Schwartz becomes the scapegoat when Ralphie utters an unmentionable word.

SCUT FARKASBoth genders13-15 y.o.All ethnicities

The textbook example of a schoolyard bully, except he never goes to school. Scut is loud, obnoxious and intimidating. This delinquent is a few years older than Ralphie and his friends and wears a perpetual scowl under his raccoon skin cap, though eventually he and his accomplice, Grover, are exposed as cowards themselves. May also play other roles in the Children’s Ensemble.

GROVER DILLMale9-11 y.o.All ethnicities

Scut Farkus's toady who is always at his side. Younger and smaller than Farkus, Grover delights in accompanying the bully. If Farkus is Gaston, Grover Dill is Lafou. His rapid-fire belly laughs, always heard with Farkus's threats, make them the scourge of the neighborhood. May also play other roles in the Children’s Ensemble.
