Kids Needed for "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Musical"
Students aged 9-18 are welcome to audition for "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Grab your hall pass and join Greg Heffley on his hilarious and heartfelt journey through the trials and tribulations of middle school. With his best friend Rowley by his side, Greg navigates the chaos of school life, dealing with bullies, clueless teachers, and his quirky family while dreaming of stardom. Based on the best-selling book series by Jeff Kinney, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical brings Greg’s diary to life with music, mischief, and mayhem. Additional info: You will present your prepared vocal audition and read a scene from the script, which will be assigned to you at that moment. Wear clothes you can move in for the dance audition and either sneakers or jazz shoes. Prior to your audition, please complete the audition form attached and bring it with you, or arrive early to complete a form available at the welcome table. IMPORTANT DATES: First Cast Meeting: Tuesday, August 26 @ 6p Discovery Night: Tuesday, October 7 @ 6p Sponsor Show: Thursday, October 16 @ 7:30p Performances: October 17-19 and 23-26 (evening performances @ 7:30p p.m. & Sunday matinee @ 2p) REHEARSALS: Rehearsals run from Wednesday, August 27 to Saturday, October 11, and will be held anywhere between the hours of 4 pm and 8:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Actors may not be called for every rehearsal or for the full length of a rehearsal until the final weeks. Some weekend rehearsals may be required. TECHNICAL REHEARSALS: Before auditioning, please take note that tech week is scheduled for Saturday, October 11-Wednesday, October 15. The specific schedule will be announced the week leading up to these days. COSTUMES: You may be asked to provide supplementary costume pieces (such as undergarments and socks) and/or shoes.
