"Never Forget - A 9/11 Introspective" Seeks Kids and Teens

About the project: This production will feature two original One-Act plays: “41 Floors Between My Life and God” and “Elevated,” by Dawn Ziviello. ABOUT "41 Floors Between My Life and God": On the eve of her son's fifth birthday, Maria is feeling a lot of complex emotions. As she talks with her husband, James, after dinner, they make a plan to change some things around so that Maria doesn't have to feel so far removed from her life as a mom. When she arrives at Tower 1 of the World Trade Center the next morning, she feels a sense of excitement that she hasn't felt in a long time. She just can't wait to get home and celebrate her son's birthday with the family. Then, the building shudders under a powerful impact. ABOUT "Elevated": This play explores the evolving dynamic between eight diverse people who become trapped in a New York University Hospital elevator. As it becomes increasingly clear that their situation is dire, these strangers move through the stages of grief while simultaneously trying to make meaningful, human connections under extreme duress. An "everyman" model, "Elevated" challenges tropes, peels back the layers and masks people wear in self-preservation, and finds something precious. Additional info: These powerful, ensemble pieces will challenge actors, offering diverse parts for all genders, ages, and abilities for actors ranging in age from 16 and up (with a small part for the right, young actor age 5 to 8).
