Child Auditions for Production "Our Town"

Evansville, IN, United States
ID: 587999Exp: 7/22/2025
Description:

Seeking kids ages 10-13 years old for "Our Town" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: This edition of the play differs only slightly from previous acting editions, yet it presents Our Town as Thornton Wilder wished it to be performed. Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. Additional info: The 1st half of the auditions will be ensemble work. Please bring water, closed-toed shoes, and clothes you are comfortable moving in. The 2nd half of the auditions will be cold readings of sides. For those that may be new to auditions, a cold read is a selection of scenes from the play that you will present with a scene partner. These are not memorized scenes and will be available at auditions only. Rehearsals Begin August 2nd. Tech, Dress Rehearsals, Performances, and strike are required for ALL cast members.
