A pivotal character in the story, serving as both a curious and emotionally perceptive 12-year-old boy and the catalyst for the film's climactic revelation. He is intelligent, observant, and mature for his age, often taking on a protective role toward his younger brother, Rex. Oliver is deeply affected by the loss of his mother and harbors suspicions about the circumstances surrounding her death, which he has kept buried for years.
A boy who serves as the emotional anchor and voice of innocence in the story. He is curious, playful, and eager to connect with his father and older brother, Oliver, but he is also deeply affected by the loss of his mother. Rex often tries to lighten the mood with humor and enthusiasm, such as his fascination with cemetery statues and his playful interactions with Oliver. However, he is also sensitive and easily spooked, as seen in his reaction to the eerie events surrounding their journey.
