Kid Actors Needed for "Winnie the Pooh" Show

Kids aged 8-18 years old are welcome to audition for the "Winnie the Pooh" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin’s little bear, who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat a little something. However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh’s intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga’s household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh comes to the rescue! A.A. Milne’s wit and special understanding of young people make this one of the most beloved plays for young people. Additional info: Auditionees should prepare a SHORT one-minute monologue from a play or novel. The monologue should feature comic timing and a theatrical level of volume and expression. The play’s genre is gentle comedy. Choose an appropriate monologue with a large theatrical range, preferably from a published play. No songs or poems. Monologues will be evaluated on volume, clearness of diction, depth of emotional expression, and comic timing. The ability of physical transformation is a major plus. Memorization is required. Auditionees should bring their calendars. All actors will be asked to list specific conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. The director will make every attempt to work around conflicts whenever possible. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, July 28, continuing through Thursday, September 11. No rehearsals will be held from August 29 -September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Rehearsals are held Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Actors should expect to attend most, but not all, rehearsals; conflicts may be listed at the audition. Tech rehearsals, September 4, 7, 8, 10 & 11 are MANDATORY.
