19 roles
(A3 – E5): a self proclaimed “strange and unusual” teenage girl, Lydia masks her grief of the loss of her mother with her dark humor. However, she is much more sensitive than her gothy exterior suggests, and she is the only one who can see Barbara and Adam. A strong singer and actor who can walk the line between tough and vulnerable.
(G3-E5): The dead guy of the hour! This titular character is zany, spooky, and absolutely hilarious. Though Beetlejuice exists in a morally gray area, he’s more of a trickster than a malevolent threat. He’s happy to align his interests with others, but ultimately, he’s looking out for himself. A strong actor with great comedic timing.
(Bb3-F5): Lydia’s father. He wants to help her get over the loss of her mother, but the ways he tries to “help” aren’t really what Lydia needs. Charles is under a lot of pressure between his concerns over Lydia, his secret relationship with Delia, his work, and his own grief (which he tries to ignore). A strong singer and actor who can play serious, but isn’t afraid to also be goofy!
(Bb3 – Eb5): Devoted husband of Barbara, just can’t catch a break. While life’s stresses were getting to him, he certainly wasn’t ready for death. He is introverted and afraid of breaking the rules, even as a ghost. A strong singer and actor who embraces their quirky side!
(Ab3 – D5): Barbara's stresses align with her husband’s, in life and death, although Barbara is a bit more adventurous than Adam. She is very kind but also strong-willed and a quick thinker. Barbara immediately bonds with Lydia. A strong singer and actor who provides motherly warmth to the character.
(G2 – C#5): Hopelessly (sometimes maniacally) optimistic. She considers herself a life coach, though underneath her façade she’s quite fragile and desperately wants to fit in with the Deetzes. Delia genuinely cares about Lydia’s well-being, even if her attempts to connect are somewhat misguided. A strong singer and actor with a flair for the dramatic.
(C4 – C5): The business tycoon whom Charles hopes to impress. The Deetz’s want to partner with Maxie to help turn their town into a supernatural tourist attraction, a plan that Lydia and the gang try to stop.
(G3 – C5): A Girl Scout with a lot of heart - and a fragile one at that! Her congenital heart disease does not deter her from selling cookies to anyone willing to buy them, even gothy teenage girls.
(A3 – D5): A former beauty pageant queen with a lot of regrets from the choices she made while she was alive. She greets the recently dead in the Netherworld and slays from the moment she enters.
A model and the wife of Maxie Dean. Could be Maxie’s fourth or fifth wife, we don’t really know. Neither does Maxie. She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she’s just happy to be here.
Delia's guru and occasional exorcist. He lives for success (or in his words,“sucks-yes!”) and devises a plan to trap the ghosts in the Deetz house.
Beetlejuice’s mother, runs the recently dead intake with an iron fist. She has “a voice like road tar” and no sympathy for anyone. A great role for an actor with deadpan humor.
