Casting a Boy for "Unwired" Film

About the project: A grounded sci-fi short film that blends psychological thriller with intimate drama. Synopsis: Set in the near future, it follows the story of a humanoid robot who forms a bond with a young boy and his single mother—until her presence begins to unravel their family dynamic. Rate: Union (TBC). Volunteer. Additional information: SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S) September-October. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE LOCATION(S) Vancouver BC. SUBMISSION DEADLINE July 31, 2025. For the lead role of Julia, experience with dance, movement, or physical theater is a strong plus—please mention any relevant background in your submission. For the role of Julia (the humanoid robot), they’re looking for grounded, realistic portrayals—think subtle, precise movement rather than exaggerated robotic gestures. If you have experience with movement-based performance or playing non-human characters, please include a note or demo in your submission.
