Seeking Kids for "Matilda the Musical"

Seeking kids ages 6-13 years old for "Matilda the Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind whose talents are constantly belittled by her cruel parents and headmistress. Dreaming of a better life for herself, she dares to take a stand against these oppressive forces and takes her destiny into her own hands. Additional info: Please prepare 1 song, 16-32 bars (about 1 minute); please bring sheet music in proper key (no acapella). Please sing anything from musical theater! There will be a dance call during each hour-long audition slot; please dress accordingly. A video of the dance audition will be sent to all auditioners ahead of time. Directors recommend practicing at home prior to auditions, as it will not be retaught. Please attach your headshot and resume to the form (if you have it). Audition forms (link to Google form) will be emailed out before auditions. Callbacks will be held at The Footlight Club in the Parker Room from 12 noon – 5 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Rehearsals will begin the week of August 3, 2025, and run Sunday afternoons, Tuesdays, and Thursday evenings through October 22, 2025. Tech Week starts Sunday, October 26, 2025, and all actors will be expected to attend rehearsals every night of Tech Week. CONFLICTS Actors will be asked to list those conflicts on our audition form. A great number of conflicts, or conflicts with performances, will affect casting decisions.
