"The SpongeBob Musical" Needs Teenagers
Performers ages 12 and up are welcome to audition for "The SpongeBob Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world, especially when paired with a fun pop score by artists like Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, and David Bowie, to name a few. Additional info: Auditions will consist of individual singing auditions and a group dance audition. Actors should prepare one minute from a contemporary pop/musical theater song in the style of the show, and bring either sheet music for the accompanist to the audition. CALLBACKS: Tuesday, July 29th, Performing Arts Center of Rapid City. Those who are needed to attend callbacks will receive an email after the second night of auditions. Callbacks will consist of additional singing and dancing, and reading from the script. Important Dates: Regular rehearsals (usually Sundays-Thursdays 6:30 pm-9:30 pm) will tentatively begin on Sunday, August 10th.
