ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Casting a boy or girl ages 5-12 for a short film "One Step". More details are below. About the project: In a near-future dystopia, Lily flees through a dense forest with young Jessie, escaping a regime that masked oppression as patriotism. As they run, flashbacks reveal Jessie’s mother, Jane — a government official — slowly awakening to the regime’s cruelty and ultimately making a heartbreaking choice: to trust Lily with her daughter’s freedom. Supporting Lead. Jessie is a bright, curious, and emotionally perceptive child. Somewhere between five and twelve (age and dialogue will be confirmed/updated based on casting options), she/he/they is old enough to question the world around her and brave enough to walk through it anyway. Though scared, she/he/they is deeply trusting of Lily and possesses a quiet courage and wit beyond her years.
