Jeremy Heere is just another high school outsider, struggling to fit in—until he discovers the SQUIP, a mysterious supercomputer in pill form that promises to make him cool. Suddenly, Jeremy transforms from unnoticed geek to social superstar, navigating a whirlwind of parties, romance, and newfound confidence. But as his SQUIP-controlled life spirals into chaos, Jeremy must decide if being popular is worth losing himself. ​With an electrifying pop-rock score by Joe Iconis and a sci-fi twist on the classic high school coming-of-age story, Be More Chill is an energetic, hilarious, and heartfelt musical that speaks to anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider. This high-octane adventure blends futuristic technology with relatable teenage struggles, creating a show that is both wildly entertaining and surprisingly deep. ​Packed with humor, heart, and hit songs like the viral sensation “Michael in the Bathroom,” Be More Chill has captivated audiences worldwide. Its devoted fanbase has propelled it from an off-Broadway underdog to a full-blown Broadway phenomenon. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the hype, this electrifying musical is a must-see event. Additional info: Please prepare a song (approx. 32 bars, or 60 - 90 seconds of music) in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided so please bring sheet music for the accompanist to play. Performing with an accompanist is strongly preferred, but you may provide tracks if you do not have sheet music. Please note: Amplification will not be provided, and playing backing tracks off a cell phone (without proper additional amplification) is strongly discouraged. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, June 25th, from 6-10 pm Callback notifications will be sent out by Wednesday, June 25th by 10 am. There will be a dance section of callbacks from 6 - 7pm, with singing and sides to occur afterwards. Rehearsal for Be More Chill will begin in early July. Rehearsals will be based on both performer and production staff availability, so please submit all known conflicts at the time of auditions. The Milburn Stone Theatre traditionally rehearses between 2 to 4 times a week. Tech week for Be More Chill will be held Sunday, September 7th through Thursday, September 11th; no conflicts will be accepted for these tech dates. Performances for Be More Chill will begin on Friday, September 12th, with performances on September 13th & 14th. There will be four performances in total,l with Friday and Saturday evening performances taking place at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees taking place at 2 pm. If interested, please apply.
