About the project: In this stage adaptation of George Orwell's 1984, we explore a dystopian society where constant surveillance and the control of information are used to maintain power. The protagonist, Winston Smith, a party member who works at the Ministry of Truth, begins to secretly rebel against the party and its leader, “Big Brother”, through a secret and forbidden affair with Julia. The play explores themes of totalitarianism, surveillance, control of information, the importance of free thought, and the struggle between individual freedom and social conformity.
