Teen Girls Needed for "Into The Woods" Show
Looking for a girl ages 14-16 "Into The Woods" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Among the most important musicals of the late 20th Century, Into the Woods premiered at the Martin Beck Theater on November 5, 1987. It was the 2nd collaborative effort between Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine following the success of Sunday In The Park with George. In just its original Broadway production, it earned “Tony” Awards for “Best Original Score,” “Best Book,” and “Outstanding Musical” of the 1987 Season, plus many more, including both the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle “Best Musical” titles. It went on to be presented at famous venues across the world before being turned into an award-winning motion picture with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski, and Johnny Depp in the cast. The musical uses the outlines of fairy tales – in their original, sometimes harsh Brothers Grimm versions – to explore the notion that all our actions (and reactions) have consequences which reverberate through the world around us. The iconic line “no one is alone” encourages us to carefully consider the implications of our choices on those around us, and reminds us that support is available if we look for it. Additional info: Please PREPARE 32 to 64 bars of a song in the style of Stephen Sondheim, but NOT from Into the Woods, and bring sheet music to provide to the accompanist provided for you. Please, no a cappella or track-backed auditions. NOTE: Those auditioning for group-singing roles only will be taught a short number that they can use as their audition. Please dress comfortably and prepare to “move” in a short, dance combination that will be taught to you. Auditions will also include readings from the script. If interested, please apply.
