"Tuck Everlasting the Musical" Needs Teenagers
Rising 8th Graders are welcome to audition for "Tuck Everlasting" the Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey. Based on the best-selling children’s classic by Natalie Babbitt and adapted for the stage by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, Tuck Everlasting features a soaring score from Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen. Additional info: Prepare 16-32 bars ( a verse and a chorus) of a song either from the show or from a show in a similar style. Please bring an instrumental track to sing with, not a cappella. Directors will have a Bluetooth speaker that you may connect to and use for your audition. Directors do not have a piano accompanist on hand at auditions. Dancers! – This show offers unique opportunities for featured dancers in ballet and lyrical styles. If you would like to audition for a featured dancer role, in addition to the vocal audition, prepare a 45-second to 1-minute dance solo to showcase your abilities. Featured dancers should have 3-4 years of dance experience in ballet and/or lyrical. This show has a mix of ballet, lyrical, and folk dance. Bring a list of ALL conflicts with you to auditions. No conflicts during tech week or performances. Tech week begins Sunday, October 12, through Thursday, October 16. Rehearsals: Begin on Tuesday, July 1 – 6:30-9:30 pm ( Read Through) Next Rehearsal will be on Tuesday, July 8, 6:30-9:30 Rehearsals continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30, and Sundays from 5-8 throughout the process. Rehearsals may be extended as you get closer to performances. A detailed schedule will be given out. NOT everyone will be called for every rehearsal. HOWEVER, dance rehearsals will primarily be on Sundays. If you are in our extremely important dance ensemble (featured throughout the entire show), you will need to have Sunday evening availability. Performance Dates: Friday, Oct. 17 & 24 – 7:30 pm Saturday, Oct. 18 & 25 – 7:30 pm Sunday, Oct.19 & 26 – 2 pm School Show(s) – Wednesday, October 22 – availability needed during the day, morning, and afternoon.
