About the project: Get ready to rock out in a world where music has been banned, and individuality is against the rules! We Will Rock You: Young@Part takes you to a future where everything sounds the same, looks the same, and feels… totally boring. But deep beneath the surface, a group of rebellious kids called the Bohemians are ready to shake things up and bring real music back! Follow Galileo, a misfit dreamer who hears strange lyrics in his head, and Scaramouche, a bold and brilliant girl who won’t be silenced. Together, they escape from the Globalsoft Corporation and the evil Killer Queen, who’s determined to keep the world under her control. On the run, they join the Bohemians and search for the hidden place where the last guitar lies waiting—ready to wake the world with the power of rock and roll. Featuring some of Queen’s biggest hits like “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” this show is loud, proud, and packed with energy. It’s a hilarious, heart-pounding, head-banging adventure about finding your voice, standing out, and believing in the power of music! Additional info: For the vocal audition, you MUST choose one of the songs attached and prepare it for auditions. Performances will be held in the Badger Ridge Middle School PAC on Thursday, November 13th at 7:30pm, Friday, November 14th at 7:30pm, and Saturday, November 15th at 1:30pm and 5:00pm. - A misfit who keeps hearing strange voices and songs in his head that deliver messages he can’t understand. He is confused and unaware that he is the one the Bohemians have been waiting for, who will lead them to the place where the last remaining live instruments have lain hidden for hundreds of years
Another misfit who also gets into trouble with the Secret Police, Scaramouche meets Galileo in hospital and they run away together. Her sharp wit keeps Galileo on his toes and gradually they fall for each other.
Killer Queen is a ruthless businesswoman and is in charge of Global Soft, the worldwide corporation which is responsible for the suppression of all live music. She’s power crazy and tough.
He works for Killer Queen, getting rid of any original or creative musical thoughts and going after the Bohemians. His victims are sent to the Seven Seas of Rhye.
Buddy is an old librarian and a hippy who has studied the sacred musical texts to the extent that even the Seven Seas of Rhye cannot entirely erase them from his mind. He’s a comic character who acts as a foil to Galileo and Scaramouche towards the end of the play.
One of the Bohemians who are intent on discovering the secrets of live music, and who believe that someone will come who will show the Bohemians the way.
Another Bohemian and Brit’s partner in crime and truest friend. Oz finds Scaramouche and Galileo and leads them back to the Bohemians.
A group of rebels, determined to fight against Global Soft and its downloadable music. Their base is the Hard Rock Cafe, and they have taken the names of musical heroes from the past.
These semi-automated characters carry out the bidding of the Killer Queen and Khashoggi.
Living in a world of consumerism and downloadable music, the Ga Ga kids don’t notice their own soulless-ness.
