"Hercules" Free Workshop Needs Kids and Teens
"Hercules" auditions for all children entering 1st grade through 12th grade. Please see the details below. About the project: This is a FREE workshop. Additional info: The week-long camp will run from June 9th through June 14th Live performances will be on June 14th at 3 PM and 6 PM FAQs Q: What is the cost for my child to participate? A: Nothing! The company is happy to provide this experience to anyone who wants to and is able to participate free of charge. Directors work with local businesses to sponsor the event and cover the costs so that you don't have to. Q: Do all kids who audition get a part? A: Not necessarily as there are only so many parts available. But there are other things to do behind the scenes! All shows are written to incorporate an age range of 50-60 children. Q: What happens if the child gets sick during that week or has to miss a day? A: Notify as soon as you know that a child will miss rehearsal. Staff will do their best to accommodate a missed rehearsal due to illness, however, because the cast only has a week to prepare for the performance, if a child is out for more than one day for any reason it may not be possible for them to still participate in the role that they were cast. Q: What are the hours of the camp? A: Rehearsals are 4 hours and 15 minutes each day with two 2-hour blocks of time with a 15-30 minute snack break between the two sessions for those cast members involved in both sessions. Not all cast members are involved in every rehearsal session. Each child's schedule for the week is dependent on their role. Younger children will likely be given smaller parts requiring only half-day rehearsals. Q: Is food provided? A: No. All cast and crew members should bring a water bottle and wear closed-toe shoes for every rehearsal. Children participating in rehearsals that are both in the morning and the afternoon should bring a sack lunch. Q: How long are the shows? A: 60-70 minutes in length, no intermission. The day of the performance is a long day for the students as they perform twice. There is enough time for pictures between shows, and the concession stand will be open and serving food.
