Strict and reserved, this nun runs the convent with discipline. Loyal to tradition, she clashes with Deloris’s unconventional methods. Ultimately, her rigid shell softens, and she embraces the choir’s new spirit. Sarcastic, protective, and strong-willed, yet open-hearted.
A shy, young novice, timid and quiet from a life of seclusion. Her journey is the heart of the show: through Deloris’s mentorship, she finds her voice—literally and figuratively—culminating in her solo “The Life I Never Led.”

The oldest nun; sweet and grandmotherly, with a few key moments and light solo lines.
Ambitious yet good-natured. An architect of church finances, he initially doubts Deloris’s impact. But when her choir sparks renewed interest—and donations—he becomes one of her biggest supporters.
Deloris’s overbearing gangster boyfriend. Calculating, controlling, and dangerous—he orders hits and chases Deloris into the convent, angry when she betrays his trust.
A sweet-natured police lieutenant, former high school classmate of Deloris. Nervous yet kind-hearted, he helps her find refuge in the convent and hangs onto hope—both professionally and romantically
Curtis’ nephew; a naive, comic-relief thug, easily manipulated.
Self-declared ladies’ man—tough exterior, insecure core.
The quiet enforcer, loyal follower, speaks in Spanish in the original.
Appears loyal but is revealed to be a police informant.
