About the project: "Fiddler on the Roof" tells the story of Tevye, a poor milkman in 1905 Russia, and his five daughters as they grapple with tradition, societal change, and the rising tide of anti-Semitism. Tevye struggles to balance his adherence to Jewish religious and cultural practices with his daughters' desires to marry for love, leading to a series of emotional and challenging events. The story culminates in the family's forced expulsion from their village, Anatevka, highlighting the broader context of persecution faced by Russian Jews at the time. Additional info: Individual auditions for this group begin at 10:00 am. Have your calendar handy and be prepared to enter rehearsal conflicts. You will be asked to upload a headshot (a JPEG file) and a theatrical résumé (a PDF file) if you have one. If you don’t have either of these files, you can still submit the form. Sides will be provided. The vocal audition should consist of no more than one minute (16-32 bars) of a song of your choice, keeping with the style of the show. Please factor that into your song choice as you prepare your audition. Singing something from the show is completely acceptable if you so choose. The music director will check your voice range but will not accompany you. Please bring pre-recorded music with you. We will have a Bluetooth speaker for you to connect to. We will not accept an acapella audition. Please make sure to have the exact cut you will be using cued up prior to entering the audition room, and it shouldn’t include vocals. Choreography/Movement Auditions June 14th, 12:00 pm – 1:20 pm All teens 14 + who are auditioning must also attend the choreography audition.
