Singing Audition for "The Sound of Music" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Upcoming fall production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC is looking for singers ages 9+. More details are below. Additional information: What is Expected: - Prepare approximately 45 seconds of a song of your choosing; ideally one verse and a chorus. - Upon arrival at your audition, you will receive a monologue to read over prior to your audition. Take a few minutes to look it over. You are not required to memorize it. Put as much inflection and emotion into your reading as you deem appropriate. Rehearsals will be Sundays from 1:00-5:00 pm, starting in July through to showtime. Wednesdays from 6:00-8:30 pm. Wednesday rehearsals will start in September, and will be scheduled only if we feel it necessary. The plan at this point is to have specific weeks we rehearse with ensemble members. This will allow flexibility for those that are interested in being a part of the show but may not be able to commit to a whole summer of rehearsals. They can decide how many rehearsals they can comfortably commit to attend and they'll use that to help them decide casting for a variety of roles. For example: Leads will be expected at all rehearsals. The Nuns of the Abbey will have 3-4 rehearsals for their scenes. Members of the dance/party scene will have 2-3 rehearsals for their scene. Festival Contestants will have 2-3 rehearsals for their scene. If you're interested, plleaase apply.
