Seeking Boys and Girls for "The Nifty Fifties 2025" Project

Whitney, TX, United States
ID: 586234Exp: 6/17/2025
Description:

Casting call for kids for "The Nifty Fifties 2025". Please see the details below. About the project: Gracie Stanley has gotten herself in hot water by promising to deliver her distant cousin, rock star Ziggy Springer, for the high school Hippity Hop at Louise’s Luncheonette. The problem is Ziggy’s manager doesn’t want his client performing anywhere without pay, so Gracie and her friends have to produce a double — and fast! They plan to use a singing soda jerk and have him perform in the dark! It won’t be easy for Gracie to get away with this one with her rival, snooty Muffin Mansfield, waiting for her to flop. Meanwhile, Louise has her own problems. The building’s owner forbids the dance and plans to turn the eatery into a dry cleaner. With all of this happening, Gracie’s brother is living in terror because he’s smashed up a Harley belonging to Sinbad Gallucci, a bad dude. Additional info: Gather a list of ALL schedule conflicts between the audition date and the final performance date. This is important. The director will cast the show and create a rehearsal schedule based on the provided conflicts. If you (or your child) are cast, it is your obligation to adhere to the rehearsal schedule once it is set. If you have never auditioned, and/or if you have a lot of theatre credits, directors encourage you to bring a photo headshot and/or theatre résumé with you to auditions. Directors have put together a basic theatre résumé template in Google Docs attached that you can copy and use as a guide. This is a generic guide only. A résumé is optional for most directors and does not have to look like this! Specific rehearsal schedules will depend on the people cast, as well as other things that are happening at the theatre. IN GENERAL, directors try to rehearse three or four weeknights (often Mon, Tues, & Thurs with occasional Wed or Fri), 6:30-8:30-ish, and Saturday mornings 9:30-noon-ish. But again, there are multiple factors that will affect your rehearsal schedule if cast. Actors are only called to rehearsal when their specific parts are being rehearsed, and directors do their best to work with reasonable schedule conflicts. Information about the first read-through will be given at auditions. If cast, you will receive a rehearsal schedule at (or sometimes before) the first read-through. If you (or your child) are called to rehearsal, the director is counting on your presence unless it was already on your conflict sheet. Performance dates: August 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 2025. If interested, please apply.
