Seeking Teens for "Ragtime" Musical
Kids aged 7-12 years old are welcome to audition for the "Ragtime" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: It’s the dawn of the 20th century in New York and everything is possible. Three uniquely American tales are woven together and united by their shared belief in the promise of the future. Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair… and what it means to live in the “land of opportunity.” Nominated for an astounding 13 Tonys and written by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and noted playwright Terrence McNally, RAGTIME is based on E.L. Doctorow’s distinguished novel of the same name. Production is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Additional info: For auditions, please prepare 16 – 32 bars in the style of the show. Songs from the show are acceptable. An accompanist will be provided. Please provide clearly marked sheet music. No recorded tracks, please. Readings will be provided. Please come with a headshot and resume stapled together.
