Singing Audition for "The Wind in the Willows" Show
Teen actors are invited to audition for "The Wind in the Willows" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: This riotous comedy follows Mole, Rat, Badger, and the impulsive Mr Toad, whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape, leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall. Additional info: Participants should prepare approximately 30 seconds of a song of their choosing (preferably a musical theater selection). Call backs, if necessary, will be held Sunday, June 1. If you do not receive an invitation to call-backs, it does not mean you are not cast in the show. Read-through will be on June 6, 2025, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Directors do their best to work around participant conflicts. All actors will be expected to attend all assigned rehearsals. Please bring your conflicts with you to auditions - this will be part of the audition form. Once the show is cast, you will receive an initial rehearsal schedule at the read-through. Vocal range Ab2-Bb4; Toad is a boisterous fellow who is always on the lookout for the next best thing. He always looks on the bright side of life, as long as he’s the centre of attention. He is full of love for his friends, but shows it in his own weird way. An expert at getting himself into trouble.
Vocal range B2-Ab4; Rat is very set in his ways. Although kind and helpful in nature, he can’t help but get frustrated when his routine needs to change. He is stubborn with some of his friends but only because he wants what’s best for them, and he has a hard time expressing his feelings.
Vocal range Bb2-A4; Mole is a curious creature who is new to the outside world. His naivety may get him in some trouble but his loyalty always helps him pull through and is the reason that his friends love him so much.
Vocal range D3-B4; A true leader of the pack, Chief Weasel is smart, sly, and bossy. He is full of energy and hungry for power (and maybe a small animal or two). He runs the Wild Wooders but has a knack for favouritism towards his own kind, weasels.
Vocal range F3-A5; Mrs. Otter is a single mother to Portia. Strong and boldly herself most of the time, she has a soft caring spot inside of her, especially for her daughter and her friends. But don’t be fooled, she won’t put up with any nonsense.
Vocal range A2-F#4; Badger is tough on the outside with a tender softness on the inside. A man who has seen many things in his days, he now prefers to live alone and in peace, however his life gets disrupted when his new friends need his help to save Toad!
Vocal range E4-A5; Always on the lookout for a snack, Portia is a typical growing otter. Her curiosity and naivety may come off as rebelliousness, and it can definitely lead her into trouble. Daughter to Mrs. Otter.
Wild, sassy, and confident, Sheryl is here for a good time, not a long time! Close confidant to Chief Weasel.
