About the project: Based on the hit film and the incredible true story, Catch Me If You Can is the high-flying musical comedy about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager Frank Abagnale, Jr., runs away from home to begin an unforgettable adventure. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination ,and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. When Frank's lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, though, Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes. Rated PG. Additional info: Auditions will last about 30-45 minutes. - Prepare about 1 minute of a song to sing that exemplifies your talent. You may sing with a track or a cappella. - A dance audition will be taught. (Be sure to come in clothes and shoes that enable movement.) Dancers who may not be vocally strong are encouraged to audition, too! - There will be cold readings from the script. Bring your calendars and be prepared to note any rehearsal conflicts from the information below. REHEARSAL INFORMATION: Rehearsals will generally be Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm, and Saturdays from 2-5 pm. No absences allowed during tech weeks (June 23-July 1 and July 7-10) and during performances. NO rehearsal July 2-6.
