Singing Audition for Teens in "Super" Musical
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking singers ages 16+ for musical "Super". Please, see the details below. About the show: SUPER is a musical parody that tells the tale of two plumbers, Marius and Linguini. When Princess Plum is kidnapped by the evil demon turtle, Howser, the plumber brothers, along with the help of Princess Maisy, must rise above their vocation to save their kingdom. On their journey where they'll meet familiar allies and foes, the question stands: what does it take to be SUPER? Rate: Please note that this is an unpaid opportunity. Additional information: Rehearsals: Begins week of June 3, 2-3 rehearsals per week w/more added rehearsals as needed in July. Location TBD: Exact days and location subject to cast’s availabilities. Performances: Friday, July 25, 2025. Call Time: 6 PM. Saturday, July 26, 2025. Call Time: 1 PM. Sunday, July 27, 2025. Call Time: 1 PM. Principal Role. He/him. Vocal Range: Baritone (G2-G4, Bb4 Falsetto). Vocal Quality: Versatile, can rap. Driven, self-assured, narrow-focused. The older plumber brother, in classic red and blue, Marius is co-owner of “A Tale of Two Plumbers”; with his brother, Linguini. Tired of his lifestyle, and haunted by a drive to become something more, Marius leaps at the chance to be a hero and save the captured Princess Plum.
Principal Role. He/him. Vocal Range: Tenor (G2-A4). Vocal Quality: Nasally, forward. Anxious, foolish, loyal. The younger plumber brother, in green and blue, Linguini is quite happy and set in his ways. Though extremely unsettled, and overly cautious, Linguini agrees to aid Marius in the quest to rescue Princess Plum.
Principal Role. She/her. Vocal Range: Alto (F3-C#5). Vocal Quality: Southern drawl, resonant. Sarcastic, tough, kind. This sarcastic princess used to be childhood friends with Plum. As they grew up and time went on, Maisy faded into the background of her kingdom, and regrets losing touch with her friend. Now, with Plum’s kidnapping, she fears reconciliation may be too late.
Principal Role. She/her. Vocal Range: Soprano (G3-E5). Vocal Quality: Light airy mix, high rock belt. Composed, compassionate, wise. The Princess of the Mushroom people. Their soon-to-be Queen. The burden that Plum carries is weighing her down. She wishes for some normalcy, and a friend who will treat her as an equal, not a monarch. When she is kidnapped from her home, she finds what she seeks, and more, in the most unlikely place.
Principal Role. He/him. Vocal Range: Bass (C2-F4). Vocal Quality: Rich, growl, resonant. Quick-tempered, controlling, misunderstood. The scary-looking Koopa King of the Eastern Ruins, Howser was a former citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom until he was unjustly exiled. Though he claims to be this “Nice Guy”, he kidnaps Princess Plum and seeks control over the Mushroom Kingdom. Will years of carefully plotting his revenge finally win out, or will he let himself be foiled by one young girl?
Featured ensemble role. She/her/any. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (F3-E♭5) & Any. Vocal Quality: Gritty, jazzy & Trumpetty. Mischievous, obnoxious, bullies.
Featured ensemble role. He/him. Vocal Range: Tenor (C3-Bb4). Vocal Quality: Smooth, relaxed. Informal, blunt, passive. The definition of chillax, Dong Kong is an ape just here for the vibes. He’s gotten a little too comfortable in his jungle hideaway, and when he’s called to action, he hesitates.
Featured ensemble role. Vocal Range: Any. Vocal Quality: Screechy. Simple, energetic, loveable. The dimwitted advisor to the throne, Frog is Plum’s most trusted aide. They attempt to do most of the kingdom’s governing until Plum becomes the queen, but unfortunately: Frog is really, really simple, and tends to get swept up in the hype.
Featured ensemble role. Vocal Range: Any. Vocal Quality: Just a little guy. Stage Age: Any. Incompetent, follower, incompetent (again). Kroopa Commander is Howser’s faithful right hand lieutenant. Dutiful, hardworking, yet incompetent, Kroopa has known Howser for many years and mostly follows him for how scary he is.
