Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A CHORUS LINE is a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway ensemble audition. Exploring the inner lives and bittersweet ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another. Memorable musical numbers include "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It." A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and compellingly authentic drama, A Chorus Line was instantly recognized as a classic. Additional info: Callbacks: May 10 at 10:00 AM until Noon This show requires a cast comprised of triple threats, Good singers who move or dance well, good dancers who sing well and all should have the acting ability to bring these 19 very different people to life. Looking for those that are equally strong dancers, singers, and actors. Due to the nature of A Chorus Line’s story, for those auditioning with less dance training, demonstrating an ability to learn and perform choreography at the audition will be important. NOTE: All roles dance in this production! Please prepare a cut of music that is 90 seconds or less from a song of your choosing. It may be from the show, in the style of the show (1970s contemporary Broadway), or something you feel best showcases your capabilities as a singer. You may bring a karaoke track that you feel comfortable with to accompany you; YouTube works fine. The directors will have a speaker that is Bluetooth enabled. The directors will have an accompanist available for the first hour of open auditions on May 5 & 7. Please come during this period if you have sheet music instead of a karaoke track. Please come prepared in clothes and shoes that you are comfortable dancing in for the dance call. Performance Dates: July 18th-20th, 24th-27th, and August 1st -3rd Friday shows at 7:30 PM, Saturday shows at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. *The second weekend has a Thursday show at 7:30 PM. Mezzo Soprano, (Range: G#3-C#5 – Opt. E5) – Streetwise, eternal optimist and starry eyed. A passionate and determined athletic Puerto Rican dancer from the Bronx with a big heart.
Mezzo Soprano (Range: G#3-C#5 – Opt. E5) – Tall, nervous, quirky and lovable, full of enthusiasm.
(Range: Cb4-Eb5) – Young and sweet but hilariously tone-deaf. Attached at the hip to her husband Al.
Soprano (Range: A3-E5 – Opt. A5, Belt To E) – Dreamy and earnest with a soaring voice.
Alto, (Range: F#3-C#5) – Self-aware, witty, and slightly insecure.
Alto (Range: C4-D5) – Small but mighty, exuding energy and charm. Born in Chinatown, Lower East Side, New York.
Tenor (Range: F3-G#4) – Energetic, confident, tap dancer from New Jersey has worked with Zach and flirts with the girls.
Tenor (Range: D3-A4 – Opt. C#5 & E5) – From Missouri. African American, strong dancer, enthusiastic, charismatic and athletic with infectious energy.
Baritone (Range: D3-F#4) – Suave and easygoing, a family man. All American guy, cocky, worked with Zach before. From Kansas City.
Baritone (Range: C#3-F#4) - Introverted and slightly insecure but loves performing-is only now starting to feel comfortable about being gay. From Spanish Harlem, New York.
Tenor (Range: E3-G#4) – Youthful and eager, the fresh face in the group from Arizona.
Baritone (Range: D3-E4) – Dry-witted and self-assured with a mature flair. Quite a smart-alec. Very East Side New York.
Baritone (Range: Range: Eb3-C4) – Flamboyant, funny, and witty. Very sharp tongued. Covers everything over with a joke, from upstate New York.
Baritone (Range: E3-G#4) – From the Bronx. Very straight. Street tough, macho, caring, newly married to Kristine.
All cut dancers will be in the opening number “I Hope I Get It” until they are cut.
