Casting Kids and Teens for "School of Rock—The Musical"
The production team is seeking actors, singers and live musicians for this production. Auditions are open to performers ages 9 and up and will be held in two rounds. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: “School of Rock—The Musical” follows wannabe rock star Dewey Finn, who, desperate for cash, poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Instead of sticking to the curriculum, he transforms a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Additional info: Eight performances from June 13 through June 22, 2025. Student Roles: Instrumentalists Auditions for these four roles are open to ages 9-16 (older students must be able to play younger). Some roles traditionally written for a specific gender may be cast differently based on the performer’s strengths. Prior acting or singing experience is not required—we’re primarily seeking confident young musicians who are ready to bring energy and personality to their performance. Student Roles: Non-Instrumentalists Auditions for the following roles are open to ages 9-14 (older students must be able to play younger). Virtual auditions for these roles will consist of a vocal audition at this time. Vocal Auditions: Please download the vocal tracks and sheet music in the google drive link below. Please learn the sheet music from measure 1-28. A source track, piano melody guide, and accompaniment track are also included. Please learn the music and record it using the accompaniment track.
