Young Talent Wanted for "Urinetown" The Musical
This is an open casting call: ALL roles are open for anyone age 17 and up. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Performances run July 24-27 Rehearsals will begin June 2. We rehearse Mon - Fri evenings (generally 6-9 - we will determine precise times once we have our cast) as well as Saturday mornings, usually until 1 or 2. As we get closer to performance dates, we will add Sunday rehearsals. Not everyone will need to be at every rehearsal until closer to the performance; it depends on the role. ARRIVE ON TIME: Auditions begin promptly at 10 a.m. Late arrivals may not be allowed to audition. We’ll start with singing auditions, then teach a dance combination, and end with small group dance auditions. Acting auditions will be held at callbacks. VOCALS: Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Prepare 16 bars of a song from a musical; choose a song that best showcases the quality of your voice and best shows your range. DANCE: Bring/wear clothes and shoes you feel comfortable moving in. Everyone auditioning will be taught a dance combination. CALLBACKS: Callbacks will include both acting and singing.
