Singing Audition for "The Spongebob Musical"

Seeking talents ages 16 and up for "The Spongebob Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg, this deep-sea pearl of a show features songs by Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, David Bowie, and more. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! Ride the wave to DHT for this brilliant, bright, hilarious, and brand-new musical. Additional info: Prepare 32-bar selection featuring a legit musical theater piece that features your voice and acting skills (no pop/rock). An accompanist will be provided. No tapes, karaoke tracks or acapella are allowed. Please come prepared with comfortable clothes you can move in if you are asked to stay for a dance audition. Bring appropriate footwear. Please note that we are seeking dancers who have theatre dance /concert dance experience and who sing well (tap dance skills a plus). Seeking strong singer/actors who move well. What to Bring. Bring a complete list of any conflicts or possible conflicts with rehearsals and performances between Wednesday, May 28, and Sunday, August 10, to the audition. If you are cast in The Spongebob Musical, no additional conflicts except those presented at your audition will be accepted. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required. Rehearsal Dates. All rehearsals will be at Diamond Head Theatre. While always subject to change, rehearsals weeks will be Mondays 7:30 PM – 10 PM, Tuesdays – Thursdays 7 PM – 10 PM, Saturdays 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, and Sundays 6 PM – 10 PM. Following the "Man of La Mancha" performance after June 15, the schedule will change to Tuesdays – Fridays 7 PM – 10 PM & Saturdays and Sundays will change to 2 PM – 6 PM. Callbacks by invitation only will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Not being called back in no way infers final casting decisions. Some of those auditioning may be asking to attend a dance audition at callbacks. Show Dates: July 18 – August 3, with the possibility of an extension to Sunday, August 10. If interested, please apply.
