About the project: As a part of our “Freshly Rooted” series, and co-produced with the Roxy Theatre Group, “Me & My Miami The Musical” is a beautiful explosion of brilliant vibrant colors, music and movement representing the many cultures of Miami. Along the way we discover three Miami kids, (Rosa, Fuquan, and Thomas) ready to savor a buffet of international music and cuisine. And eager to enjoy a wonderful time with family. They have been selected to speak & share their art at the Dade County Farmers Market Arts Festival, representing the outstanding youth of Miami. Rate: All roles are compensated. Additional info: Callbacks: Sunday, April 27, 2025 Actors: Prepare (2) contrasting one-minute monologues of your choice. Singers: Prepare an up-tempo and ballad contemporary song in the style of the show (i.e. Pop, Gospel, Jazz, Country, R&B, etc.) (bring a track on a device or sing acapella). Dancers: Prepare a one-minute combination that should include some ballet technique, jazz and hip hop. Also, include any dance that represents your community. Cuban male. Age between late twenties to early forties. He should be an actor with a comedic edge. He should have a very likeable personality and diplomacy is his strong suit. He is Rosa’s Uncle/Tio. He also works at the Dade County Farmers Market.
He should appear to be between the age of 13 and 16. He should be an actor who sings and/or plays an instrument. Smart, creative, a jokester, and he has a good Baptist Church influence. He and his family live in the Overtown neighborhood. He attends Booker T. Washington High School.
Age between late forties and sixty. Should be an actor with a comedic edge. She is a spicy, fashion-conscience Miamian. She is the grandmother of Fuquan. A retired history teacher.
Euro American male. He should appear to be between the age of 13 and 16. Should be an actor who sings and/or plays an instrument. Smart, creative and outspoken. He is intrigued by magic and has a geekish charm. He and his family live in the Brickell neighborhood. He attends Hebrew Academy.
Euro American male. Age between late twenties and early forties. He should be an actor with a comedic edge. He has a supportive, gentle parenting style but is influenced by His father’s worldview. He is Joseph Robbach’s father. He is an EMT (Emergency medical technician).
