We're looking for local teen actors to join us in an upcoming student short film about femininity, freedom, and the madness of being a girl in the modern world. Filming Location: Fairhope, AL Project Type: Unpaid – student project for school Shot on: iPhone (lo-fi, dreamy aesthetic) Filming Dates: TBD – weekends/after school (flexible) Must be Local to Fairhope or Nearby – No Exceptions SYNOPSIS:A mysterious, elegant short film that follows an occult group of young women performing a ritual in nature. Each girl undergoes a symbolic ritual and relives the real-world reason she seeks freedom—from body image, academic pressure, suicidal thoughts, societal roles. As the rituals unfold, they transcend into something divine, dangerous, and unhinged. In the end, the girls discover the unsettling truth: true freedom is madness. She hides her academic aspirations from others, afraid of not fitting the image she’s crafted. Her ritual is bold—burning away expectations. Must be able to play both toughness and emotional honesty. KARISSA Dramatic, eccentric, melancholic. Karissa feels like a ghost of another era—always performing, always feeling too much. She is theatrical and unpredictable, but beneath the dramatics is a deep loneliness and longing to be understood. Her ritual is strange and dreamlike. GWENDOLYN Composed, popular, secretly insecure. Gwendolyn is the picture of perfection—stylish, admired, envied. But internally, she struggles with severe body image issues and a fear of losing control. Her ritual centers on the destruction of beauty standards.
