Teen Audition For Singing in "Footloose, The Musical"
Singing Auditions Open for Teens in "Footloose, The Musical". Check out the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Show is schedule for July 25 to Aug. 3. If auditioning, prepare a 16-bar cut of a song from the 80s genre (classic rock, rock ballad) that showcases your voice and style (one minute maximum). Do not use a song from the show and have a track ready to pair to a bluetooth speaker for your audition. Bring headshot and resume, if available and be prepared for a dance call and wear or bring appropriate shoes to dance in. Wear clothes that you can move in or bring a change of clothes. Actors interested in the role of “Ren” should be prepared to have an additional dance call at the end in addition to the full cast dance call. Rehearsals will begin immediately upon casting (typically on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and occasionally on Saturdays and Sundays. Please see the attachment for details. Tenor. Teenager from Chicago. Fun quick witted and energetic, emotional, rebellious, likeable; emotes his pain through quirky sarcasm and dance; strong dancer; athletic skills a plus
Baritone.The powerful, traditional local church leader; strict, stern, and solemn, still struggling with the death of his son. Must be a strong singer –has solos.
Mezzo-Pop. ShawandVi’sdaughter.Smart, a bit of the bad girl with an edge, sweet, she’s rebelling against her father’s stance, but she’s more mischievous than negative; role requires strong, solid voice. Must be a confident singer/dancer
(Supporting): Soprano. Reverend Moore’s loving,supportive, resilient wife. Has a duet with Ethel – mature, vocal sound desired.
Soprano/pop voice. Ariel’sfriend; a bitscatterbrained,sweet, fun, knows everything about everything; role requires strong voice, comedic timing and dance. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
Tenor. A “country bumpkin” with a short temper but a warm heart and a big smile; comedic timing and dance a must. He “learns” to dance.
Soprano. Ren’s mother; had a tough go, just trying to make it through the relocation from Chicago…would do anything for her son. Has a duet with Vi – mature vocal sound desired.
Tenor.The local bad boy and Ariel’s boyfriend. Doesn’t like Ren. Singsfairly well; sings with Ariel with male back up
Mezzo/Alto. Ariel’sfriend; the smart one of the group; role requires a strong singer, comedic timing, and dance. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
Mezzo. Ariel’s friend; comedic timing, and dance required. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
Owner of the Burger Blast. mature, comedic role, accent would be fun. Must be able to roller skate.
Cowboy hat, boots and an attitude. Thinks of himself as the only “real man” in the room. Sings Act Two Opening Song.
Townspeople, students; need strong character people; chorus singing, dancing parts; all teens dance at the prom.
Ren’s aunt, married to Wes. Character can sing, but does not have to sing or dance well.
Ren’s uncle, married to Lulu, Character can sing, but does not have to sing or dance well
Gym teacher. Character can sing, but does not have to sing or dance well.
Roger’s wife. Character can sing, but does not have to sing or dance well
