Casting Teens for "Legally Blonde the Musical"
Actors ages 16 and up are welcome to audition for "Legally Blonde the Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal! Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world. Rate: This is an unpaid, non-equity production. Additional info: Auditions will be 60 minutes, consisting of a vocal audition, a dance audition, and a fight audition. If you are auditioning for the role of Callahan, you do not need to participate in the dance portion. Material to Prepare: In addition to a Headshot/Resume, please prepare to sing one minute of a song that shows off your voice and is not from the show. Bring sheet music of the song you've prepared. An accompanist will be provided. No acapella or recorded music. Dress comfortably for the dance and fight audition. Please review the dance audition video included in the sign-up link. Please bring any conflicts between May 27th and August 3rd. No conflicts submitted after the first read-through will be accepted. Offers will be made by phone between May 23rd and 26. If you are not cast, you will receive an email no later than May 26th. Callbacks are invitation only and will be held Thursday, May 22, at Rubin Center. Time Commitment: Rehearsals will run Sundays from 6 pm to 9 pm and Mondays through Thursdays from 7 pm to 10 pm. The first rehearsal will beon Tuesday, May 27.
