Singing Audition for "Big The Musical"

Casting kids ages 10 and up for "Big The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Josh Baskin is sick of being an awkward kid. At a carnival, he makes a wish to the Zoltar machine to become "big." To his shock, his wish is granted. After an understandably awkward beginning, Josh is forced to do "adult" things, like getting a job and a girlfriend. In the end, he discovers that there's much more to being an adult than he bargained for and learns that we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. Additional info: Preliminary auditions will consist of a vocal and dance audition. Please prepare approximately 1 minute of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided - make sure your music is in a binder and cuts are clearly marked. Directors will prefer to hear a song that is not from the show. All performers should have appropriate footwear for the dance portion of the audition. If you do not own dance-specific footwear, please be prepared to dance in clean gym shoes that have never been worn outside. The audition dance will be taught at the audition. No prior preparation is required. Performances are scheduled for July 18, 19 & 25 at 7:30 pm and July 20, 26 & 27 at 3 pm at the Community Arts Center. Cast members must be able to attend all tech rehearsals (July 13-17) and performances. Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Please note: not all cast members will be called for all rehearsals. Callbacks (by invitation only) will be held in the evening on Thursday, May 15. Note that the fee will be applied.
