Singing Audition for "Grease" the Musical
"Grease" the Musical is looking for performers entering 8th grade in the 25-26 school year and older. Please see the details below. About the project: This high-energy musical brings the 1950's to life with unforgettable music, electrifying dance numbers, and timeless characters. Additional info: What to Prepare: You can choose a one-minute song; however, songs from Grease are encouraged. Bring your recording or accompanist; recordings are preferred. A short reading from the musical if you are auditioning for a lead role or a prepared scene (optional but encouraged). Scripts for reading will be provided. You might be asked to learn a short dance combination—wear comfortable attire and proper footwear. Rehearsal and Performance Information: Rehearsals will begin with a full cast read-through to be announced and regular rehearsals will start on Tuesday, May 27. The show will run at Tell City Junior Senior High School Auditorium on July 31, August 1, 2, and 3. Directors Need Your Talent: Don’t miss your chance to be part of this electrifying production! The leader of the Burger Palace Boys; good-looking, strong, and confident, with an air of easy-going charm.
New in town; sweet, wholesome, naive, cute, and innocent.
Leader of the Pink Ladies; tough, sarcastic, outspoken, but vulnerable. Frenchy – A dreamer; good-natured but not too bright, she is heavily made up, and fussy about her appearance, particularly her hair. She can’t wait to finish high school to be a beautician.
The ‘beauty’ of the Pink Ladies; pretty and looks older than the other girls but betrays her age when she opens her mouth. She tries to act sophisticated.
Funny, loud, compulsive eater and awkward member of the Pink Ladies. Loud and pushy with the girls, but shy with boys.
The youngest of the guys; small, boyish, and open, with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude towards the other guys. Plays the guitar.
The second in command of the Burger Palace Boys; tough-looking, tattooed, surly, and avoids any show of softness. He has an oƯbeat sense of humor.
A member of the Burger Palace Boys; funny, he is a braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he’s a real lady-killer.
The anything-for-a-laugh stocky type of boy; a clown who enjoys winding people up, he is full of mischief and reams up half-baked schemes and ideas.
A typical ‘teen audience’ disc jockey; slick, egotistical and fast-talking. He is also a veteran “Greaser”.
The best dancer at St. Bernadette’s; a loudmouth, she wins the dancing competition with Danny.
The class valedictorian; physically awkward, with weak eyes and a high-pitched voice. He’s a typical teacher’s pet – both smug and pompous, but gullible.
All-American, rock-star “Greaser” student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence.
A typical cheerleader; attractive, athletic, sure-of-herself, but can be given to bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She’s a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies.
The club-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls’ gang who hang around with the Burger Palace Boys.
