Kid Actors Needed for "The Miracle Worker"
Upcoming production of “The Miracle Worker”. The minimum age to audition is 10 years old, and the maximum age is 18. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This classic play tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her blind and mute student, Helen Keller. “The Miracle Worker” dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, and treated by her family as almost sub-human. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence. With scenes of intense physical and emotional drama, Annie’s success with Helen finally comes with the utterance of a single, glorious word: “water.” Additional info: Auditonees should prepare a SHORT (one-minute) monologue from a play or novel. The monologue should express emotional range and a theatrical level of volume and expression. The play’s genre is biographical drama.
