Casting Teen Performers for "Love's Labour's Lost" Play
Seeking talent ages 16 and up for "Love’s Labour’s Lost" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The King of Navarre and his three companions swear a very public oath to study together and to renounce women for three years. Their honor is immediately put to the test by the arrival of the Princess of France and her three lovely companions. It's love at first sight for all concerned, followed by the men's highly entertaining but hopeless efforts to disguise their feelings. Rate: All roles are compensated. Actors will receive a one-time stipend at the close of the show. The amount of the stipend varies depending on the size of role. At this time, directors cannot provide housing accommodations for actors. Additional info: Present one memorized classical comedic monologue between 1 ½ to 3 minutes in length. Bring a headshot (head and shoulders photo) and a resume. Actors audition in groups of up to six in a 30-minute period and may be asked to stay an additional 30-60 minutes to read sides. Actors may be asked to attend callback auditions. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled audition time. Download the Audition Form attached, complete it, and bring it with you to auditions. Directors are interested in any special skills you might have, including but not limited to dance, music – singing and/or playing instruments, stage combat skills, sports, and movement experience. Please list special skills with your audition materials and be prepared to demonstrate if asked. Callbacks will be Sunday, March 23 f,rom 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 PM Performance Dates: May 30 - June 14, 2025 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm Rehearsals begin in April 2025. Actors under 18 must be available for all scheduled performances and a majority of the rehearsal period. Student actors must present an audition as outlined above.
