Auditions for "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory" Show. Looking for kids and teens. Please see the details below. Additional info: Audition Forms – Candidates will complete the FCT Audition Form. Be prepared to write or attach past experience/skills, roles desired (may choose “Any”), and scheduling conflicts. Vocal & Reading Auditions – The link shared above includes song and dialogue selections for specific characters, as well as other audition requirements. Readings – All candidates will congregate in the open auditorium. Directors will call candidates to the stage to read specific readings. Directors will look for expression and volume. Callbacks – Candidates may attend one or both audition nights. Some may be asked to attend a “call-back” session. Casting Announcements – Within a couple of days, directors will contact all by phone, text, or email with the results and further information about read-throughs, etc. If interested, please apply.

Boy about age ten who is sweet, smart, hopeful and loving. Charlie Bucket is the emotional heart and soul of the musical. He is wonderfully innocent. An honest actor and an excellent singer with an unchanged voice. Charlie is in nearly every scene and the actor should be able to handle the demands of a sizable role. Ideally we would cast a boy, but are open to casting a girl (presenting as a boy) (Vocal range G3 - F5)
(open to double casting) Youthful boy who is round and full-faced, but rampantly over-active despite his size. He speaks with a German accent and is an excellent singer and comedic actor. Yodeling skills are a plus. (Vocal range Bb3 - G5)
Veruca is wealthy, class-conscious, and a completely spoiled girl. Classical ballet skills are a plus but not required. Veruca is a comedic actress with a character singing/screaming voice. Pointe shoes are not required but indicate if you have them and are a dancer and/or gymnast. Speaks with a Russian accent. (Vocal range Ab4 - Db5)
Youthful girl who has a huge pop/R&B voice, as well as amazing hip-hop dance skills. She is confident, forward and full of attitude. An avid gum chewer and social media influencer. Violet’s attempt to beat a gum-chewing record completely consumes her. Social media fame has gone to her head and makes her believe she is owed attention and praise at all times. (Vocal range C#4 - F#5)
Youthful boy who is a fireplug with a ridiculous amount of energy. For this adaptation Mike is not just a TV junky, he is also addicted to video games, the Internet and any other mind-numbing technological device. He is a hacker as well! He is smart, maybe even a young genius, but also rude and has no concept of respecting his elders or authority. (Vocal range G3 - Bb4)
