Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Shrek The Musical"

Kids ages 10-17 years old are welcome to audition for "Shrek The Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Shrek the Musical is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. Suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs, you name it) raid his sanctuary, saying they’ve been evicted by the vertically-challenged Lord Farquaad. So, Shrek strikes a deal: I’ll get your homes back if you give me my home back! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing–something strange and different–about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets? Additional info: Please prepare 30 seconds- 1 minute of a musical theater piece that best demonstrates your vocal ability. If singing a song from something other than Shrek, please bring sheet music for the pianist All auditioners will be asked to learn and perform a short dance/movement combination. Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, as well as closed-toe shoes. Short readings from the script will be held. Rehearsal & Show Dates: Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:30 pm starting May 14, 2025. All cast will not be called for all rehearsals.
