Seeking Teens for Dance Tryouts for "Bye Bye Birdie"
Teenagers are welcome to audition for "Bye Bye Birdie" Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A loving send-up of the 1950s, small-town America, teenagers, and rock & roll. Teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted, so he chooses All-American girl Kim MacAfee for a very public farewell kiss. Featuring a tuneful high-energy score, plenty of great parts for teens, and a hilarious script, Bye Bye Birdie is sure to thrill all audiences. Additional info: Please be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theater-style selection. An accompanist will not be provided so please bring audio file accompaniment or acapella is acceptable as well. The audition will also consist of cold readings if you are interested in a specific role. Please be prepared to learn a short dance combination. There is the possibility of callbacks, especially for specific roles. Show dates are: July 18,19, 20, and 25, 26, 27 Show times are: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm Sundays at 2:00 pm Call time will be 1.5 hours before curtain time. Monday - Thursday rehearsals will begin the week of May 19th, with several music rehearsals scheduled in April and May prior to that date. As with every show, it is extremely important for everyone to be at as many rehearsals as possible. If interested, please apply.
