Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Seussical" Musical
Kids and teens are needed for the "Seussical" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Rate: Non-Paid. Additional info: AUDITION DETAILS/ REQUIREMENTS. Non-Union. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your time slot prepared with sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show (approximately one minute); songs from Seussical are not acceptable. No tracks or acapella auditions are accepted; please bring sheet music in your key. A piano accompanist will be provided. Dance calls will be held at Callbacks. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals start April 14, 2025, at Slayton House, and will be held at the following times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30 PM Saturdays from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. Tech week starts June 9th, 2025. PERFORMANCE DATES: 6/13, 6/14, 6/20, 6/21, 6/27 and 6/28 @ 8PM 6/21, 6/22 and 6/29 @ 2PM If interested, please apply.

Range Ab3-C5. Jojo is a "Thinker", a smart child with a wild imagination. The Mayor's son, he is a Who who is always finding trouble. Bright, creative, and inadvertently mischievous. Possesses a wildly expansive imagination and finds solace in his friendship with Horton. (This role will be Double Cast)
Range A4) Young Kangaroo is a politician’s kid. Privileged and only sees the world through their mother’s lens. They should function well with the Sour Kangaroo. (Doubles as a Cadet)
Range A3-E4. The Sour Kangaroo’s henchmen in suits; the Wickersham Brothers (Wickersham 1, Wickersham 2, Wickersham 3) are a trio of trouble-making bros. Three strong vocalists who complement one another well and bring a mischievous spirit to the story. (Double as Whos, Hunches, and Featured Dancing Ensemble)
Range A3-B4. Vocal Powerhouses; the Bird “Girls” often serve as our Greek Chorus. They are the plastics in any school--a clique of pretty, self-centered "backup birds" who are vlogging their way through life. They do whatever Mayzie does. Think “Heathers” or “Mean Girls”. (Double as Whos, Hunches, and Featured Dancing Ensemble)
Military Academy recruits serving under General Genghis Khan Schmitz. Eager to please, but also here for a reason. They are all in need of some structure, but Schmitz ain't giving it. (Doubles as The Whos Ensemble. The roles of Cindy Lou and Max will be cast from this pool.)
