Singing Opportunities for Kids in "The Lion King Jr." Show
Looking for kids ages 6-18 for "The Lion King Jr." Show. Please see the details below. Additional info: On arrival, you will be asked to fill out an audition form. You may download it and bring it with you. All actors will be taught one song “Hakuna Matata”. You can sing it in your range. There will also be a short dance audition so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. (No crocks or boots). The staff may have you do some cold readings if necessary. When are Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be on Sundays 1:30-4:30pm and on Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 pm During Tech Week June 23-27, we will rehearse 9:00 am-3:00 pm. (Tech week is mandatory) When is the Show: The show will be performed Friday, June 27 at 7:00pm and Saturday, June 28 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm Where is the show: Oley Valley High School, 17 Jefferson Street, Oley See the attachment for details. An adventurous and endearing cub who can't wait to be king. Simba is playful, energetic, and naive, but struggles with shame and his destiny. Strong singer and performer
A wise mandrill who acts as healer and guides Simba on his journey home. Leads the African chants throughout the show. Confident performer with a strong singing voice.
A courageous lion and Young Simba's best friend. She is not afraid to speak her mind. Strong female performer, sings a little
The strong, honorable and wise lion leader who should command respect onstage and also show tenderness with his son. A mature actor who portrays the king.
Cold-hearted and wickedly intelligent brother of Mufasa, he will stop at nothing to become king. A mature performer who can bring out this villain's dark side and sarcastic sense of humor. Solos can be sung or spoken
The anxious yet loyal assistant to Mufasa who is always busy trying to do his duty. Songs are spoken rather than sung.
The sassy one of Scar's trio of hyenas who is always looking out for herself. She should be able to laugh loudly and long, as well as be menacing.
A slick yet childish hyena who works for Scar. He would be the leader of the group if hyenas weren't so lazy. Confident actor who can portray nastiness and gruffness.
The third member of Scar's trio of lackeys. He has a loud, cackling laugh that is his only form of communication. Must laugh and communicate through physicality instead of words.
A featured lioness, Mufasa's mate, and Simba's mother. Has a few key speaking lines showing care and the command of a queen.
