About the project: "Anonymous Confidant" is a short hybrid documentary about a series of mysterious posters that appeared around Vancouver in 2024, inviting people to leave a voicemail for listeners. This film seeks out the enigmatic creator of this phone line, and blends real recorded voices from the answering system with voyeuristic reenactments shot on VHS. A meditation on the intimacy of anonymity, the film asks whether they can be more truly seen when they remain hidden. Rate: Non-Union. Volunteer.
