A clever, resourceful young pirate with a heart of gold. Though he’s labeled a pirate, he’s more of a trickster who outsmarts greedy scoundrels to reclaim stolen treasure. Steven’s journey is one of discovery, as he learns the difference between being a true hero and being a pirate. He is adventurous, bold, and quick-witted, with a strong sense of justice. (Strong singing, acting, and movement required.)
A fearless and independent girl with a reputation for being an outlaw. She has a deep loyalty to her crew and a determination to right past wrongs. She is cunning, confident, and full of energy, with a strong presence. (Strong singing, acting, and movement required.)
The main antagonist, a ruthless and manipulative pirate. He presents himself as charming and wise but is ultimately selfish and power-hungry. He leads a ragtag crew of pirates who fear and respect him. He loathes being uncomfortable. He has a commanding voice and presence. (Strong acting and singing required.)
The powerful and eccentric leader of the island’s mischievous monkey tribe. Wise but unpredictable, he commands his band of monkeys with dramatic flair. Chieftain has a grand sense of humor, speaks in riddles, and is full of surprises. This is a highly physical role requiring agility, strong character acting, and comedic timing. (Movement-heavy role, singing optional but a plus.)
Steven’s enthusiastic and talkative sidekick who mimics her every move. Echo is eager to prove herself as a worthy outlaw but often gets herself into hilarious trouble. She brings energy and humor to every scene. (Comedic timing, movement, and singing required.)
A burly, strong but soft-hearted member of Steven’s crew. Despite his intimidating name, he’s gentle, thoughtful, and often the voice of reason among the outlaws. (Requires good comedic timing and strong stage presence.)
The youngest and scrappiest member of Steven’s crew. He’s always eager to take on a challenge, even when it’s way over his head. His determination and mischief add charm to the group. (Agile movement and acting required.)
A tough and fearless female pirate with a sharp tongue and a quick blade (though she never actually uses it). She’s one of Captain LeMean’s most trusted fighters and has a no-nonsense attitude. (Strong acting and movement required.)
A gruff, intimidating pirate who enjoys causing trouble. He’s not the smartest but makes up for it with brute force and loyalty to LeMean. (Strong character acting and movement required.)
A nervous and jittery pirate who always expects the worst. He’s constantly worried something terrible is about to happen but somehow manages to survive. (Comedic timing and movement required.)
A lively and mischievous group of monkeys that live on the island, led by Chieftain the Monkey King. These monkeys are agile, clever, and full of personality. Some help Steven and Treasure, while others cause chaos. Each monkey can have a unique trait (e.g., one is always hungry, one is extra sneaky, one likes to imitate people). This ensemble plays a crucial role in the show’s humor and movement-heavy scenes. (Requires strong movement and comedic acting; some monkeys may have small solo lines.
