Seeking talents ages 16 and up for the "Dreamgirls" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Inspired by Motown and R&B legends of the 1960s-70s, Dreamgirls follows the rising stardom of the Dreamettes, an all-girl singing trio from Chicago. The three best friends-the phenomenally talented, but demanding Effie White, the beautiful and appealing Deena Jones, and the eager, romantic Lorrell Robinson-team up with driven, demanding manager Curtis Taylor, who is determined to see their (and his) star rise. As their careers begin to take off, changes are made to ensure their mass appeal to the pop market. Egos are bruised, tempers flare and hearts are broken in pursuit of stardom. Additional info: Please be prepared to dance and sing. CALLBACKS: Wednesday, March 5th. Please note that not every character will require a callback. Not receiving a callback does not necessarily mean you will not be cast, nor does receiving a callback guarantee you will be cast. CAST LIST: Friday, March 7th @ Noon REHEARSAL PERIOD: March 10, 2025 - April 30, 2025 7:00-10:00 pm, Monday - Thursday. Afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays are also a possibility for choreography/blocking rehearsal. (Directors will distribute detailed rehearsal schedules for all actors.) TECH WEEK/DRESS REHEARSALS April 27-30, 2025 Crew integration, cue-to-cue, tech rehearsals. Required attendance. PERFORMANCES: May 1-18, 2025 Thursday shows at 7:30 pm, Friday and Saturday shows at 8:00 pm, and Sunday shows at 2:30 pm. NOTE: Actors must be able to commit to all performance dates & tech/dress rehearsals. PICK-UP REHEARSAL: May 7 and 14, 2025 Held at the directors' & stage manager's discretion. Keep dates open.
