Dance Opportunities for Teens in "Hunchback of Notre Dame"

Actors age 17 and up are invited to audition for "Hunchback of Notre Dame" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on the 1996 Disney film and Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bellringer of Notre Dame, and his desire to be a part of the outside world. When he summons the courage to attend the Feast of Fools, he meets Esmeralda, a compassionate gypsy who protects him from an angry mob. At the same time, Quasimodo’s master, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, and the new captain of the guard, Phoebus de Martin, both fall in love with the beautiful girl. Caught between the cruel Frollo and the danger posed by the Gypsies, will Quasimodo save Esmeralda from Frollo’s lust and anger? Will she return Quasimodo’s affection? Who is the true monster of Notre Dame? Rate: This is a non-profit, non-equity, volunteer-based theater company. All positions within the company are unpaid unless otherwise specified. Additional info: WHAT TO KNOW/PREPARE - While adapted from the beloved Disney film, please be aware the show is a darker and more mature version, closer to Victor Hugo’s novel. It features some adult themes, innuendo, and suggestive situations. Actors under the age of 18 may audition with the consent of a parent/legal guardian. - No reservations are needed. Arrive anytime within the audition window. - Dress comfortably; be prepared to dance. - For most roles, please prepare a song in the style of the show that shows off your acting and vocal range. 16-20 bars is sufficient. Bring sheet music or an accompaniment track. - Provide a resume and headshot along with your audition form, either in person or online here. Please include ALL conflicts from March through June on your audition form.
